My true life story about the couple conference 2025
Couples conference 2025.
I attended a landmark programme today, 19/10/2025, and it became a day I will never forget. Earlier, I had faced an unpleasant situation that deeply hurt me. My daughter was wrongly accused of stealing a phone—something she knew absolutely nothing about. The false accusation discouraged her from attending the church service with me that morning. What pained me most was seeing the very people who accused her standing confidently on the altar, officiating in a drama, while my innocent daughter stayed away in silent humiliation. My heart sank. I watched them act as though nothing had happened, and I could feel tears pressing behind my eyes. Yet, I said to myself, “God knows the truth, and He will fight for the innocent.” As the Scripture says, “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:14 KJV).After the service ended, I decided not to go home immediately. At the gate of my house, I asked someone to call my daughter to join a brother I had already contacted to take us to the RCCG Royal Couple Conference. To my surprise, the girl I sent came back saying my daughter was not home, but moments later I found out she was indeed inside. I sighed deeply but chose not to argue. I simply prayed silently, “Lord, let peace reign.” From my house to the venue was not an easy journey, especially because of my health condition. My C4-C5 spinal challenge makes walking extremely difficult, so I was on a wheelchair. As we made our way, I saw many people driving past—some I knew well, others from the same church—but not one stopped to help. Even my own pastor drove by without offering assistance. For a moment, I felt forgotten, like the man who fell among thieves and was left by the roadside until the Good Samaritan came along. “But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him” (Luke 10:33 KJV).Truly, it was the compassion of one brother that turned my frustration into thanksgiving. He stopped, helped lift my wheelchair, and assisted my wife and me to the vehicle. His kindness reminded me that “One good turn deserves another,” as the African adage says, and that true love is shown in deeds, not in titles or positions. Despite the pain, I thanked God for sending help when it mattered most. When we finally got to the conference, all my earlier disappointment melted away. The atmosphere was divine. The music was uplifting, the food well-prepared, and the two talks we listened to were both inspiring and enriching. I felt renewed in my spirit and grateful that I didn’t let discouragement keep me from attending. The Bible says, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31 KJV), and indeed, I felt a fresh strength within me that day. Life taught me again that even in pain, God sends reminders of His faithfulness through unexpected people. Truly, “When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot harm you.”
