MY PEOPLE I HAVE COME AGAIN I!
🕊️ MY PEOPLE, I HAVE COME AGAIN O! 🕊️
By Ikechukwu Frank
There are moments in life that don’t just touch you—they transform you. Yesterday was one of those moments for me.
I was in church—my usual place of strength. Sitting on my wheelchair, the women’s service was in full gear. The presence of God was tangible. The singing, the worship, the laughter during question time—it was like heaven had descended gently into the sanctuary.
Then came that question. One of the women stood up and asked:
“What is it that kills love the most in a relationship?”
There was silence. Then thoughts. Then opinions. But none of those responses prepared me for what was about to happen next.
Right there, in front of everyone, my wife—yes, the same woman I had assumed had emotionally distanced herself since my spinal cord injury—turned and said something I didn’t see coming:
“Can we have a joint account?”
I blinked. My mind raced. “What’s happening here?”
With honesty (and maybe a little resistance), I replied, “No o! It’s not possible.”
She looked at me, not with anger, but curiosity.
“Why not?”
I took a deep breath. “Because you are not the mother of my other children. If we have a joint account now, what if you stop me from taking care of them? Let them grow and marry first. Then we can talk about joint accounts.”
She looked at me quietly… then said the words that melted my heart and rewrote our story:
“Then let’s start all over again.”
At that moment, I lost all composure. My emotions flooded like a river released from a dam. I wept—tears not of pain, but of joy, humility, and healing. It felt like God reached into the cracked walls of my heart and started rebuilding.
I turned to her and said, “If a building has a crack in its foundation, no amount of paint or decoration can fix it. You must break it down and rebuild.”
She nodded in agreement. She was ready to rebuild—with me.
💔 You see, love isn’t about pretending the crack isn’t there. Love is about saying, “Let’s fix it. Together.”
> “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
—Psalm 147:3 (KJV)
That, my people, is what the church does.
Church isn’t just a place of preaching. It’s a place of presence. A place of healing. A place where the Holy Spirit moves in between the notes of a song and the silence between words. It’s where your marriage, your family, your life, your heart—can be restored.
But that’s not even all that happened.
Towards the end of the service, the women distributed pure white handkerchiefs. The children were to present them to the men as a symbolic gift of honour.
As I sat on my wheelchair, my precious daughter walked up to me. She looked into my eyes, smiled the most beautiful smile, and said:
“Daddy, this is my own gift to you—my precious father.”
She placed the white handkerchief in my hand. Again, the tears came—tears that cleansed more than my eyes. They washed my soul.
🎁 That handkerchief became more than cloth—it became a mantle of love, restoration, and honour.
> “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
—Psalm 127:3 (KJV)
> “To honour a man is to speak to the king in him.”
—Adage of Wisdom
In that moment, I saw clearly: Despite the physical paralysis, God had not left me stuck.
He was still moving—in my wife’s heart. In my daughter’s honour. In the atmosphere of the church. In the quiet whispers of reconciliation.
My people, hear me well: If you don’t go to church, you are missing big time.
Because church is not just about noise—it’s about presence. Sometimes, the message isn’t in the sermon—it’s in the silence, the unity, the Holy Spirit moving in hearts like a soft wind stirring dry leaves.
🕊️ THE POWER OF GOD’S PRESENCE IN THE CHURCH
1. Church Restores Homes
In a generation where homes are being torn apart, the presence of God is still the glue that holds families together.
> “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”
—Psalm 127:1 (KJV)
When you walk into a Spirit-filled church, restoration walks in with you. The pain you brought in can turn into peace by the time you leave.
2. Church Heals Relationships
What years of argument can’t fix, one moment in God’s presence can restore.
That day, God used one simple question and a sincere answer to heal my marriage. There was no laying on of hands, no special oil—just truth, openness, and the Holy Spirit.
> “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
—Proverbs 15:1 (KJV)
3. Church Binds Families in Harmony
The joy of watching my daughter honour me reminded me that fatherhood is not about what you can physically give, but how deeply you are present emotionally and spiritually.
> “Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.”
—Colossians 3:21 (KJV)
> “A home is not built by bricks but by hearts knit in harmony.”
—Adage of Wisdom
💡 KEY LESSONS FROM THIS TESTIMONY
Broken foundations must be rebuilt, not ignored.
True love is willing to start again.
Church is a spiritual hospital. Don’t stay away.
You don’t need perfect health to be a perfect father.
In God's presence, even silent moments speak volumes.
🙌 WHY YOU MUST NOT STOP GOING TO CHURCH
Some people say, “But I can worship at home.” Yes, you can. But there’s a corporate blessing in the gathering of believers that you cannot replicate in isolation.
> “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together… but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
—Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
> “A coal separated from the fire cools fast.”
—Adage of Wisdom
Your healing, your breakthrough, your restoration might not come through preaching—but through a hug, a conversation, or a moment like mine in a women's meeting.
🎯 FINAL WORDS
I am sitting on a wheelchair—but I am rising in grace.
I may not be able to walk physically—but I am walking in restoration.
My body may be weak—but my spirit is full of praise.
> “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
—Psalm 23:3 (KJV)
To every man, every woman, every parent reading this:
If there’s a crack in your home, don’t decorate it.
Break it down. Rebuild it. In love. In truth. In God.
